The 4th of July holiday week saw a modest 5.2% increase in total sales Monday to Sunday compared to the previous 3 weeks. Sales volumes varied greatly by day with increases Monday and Tuesday before spiking 44.7% on Wednesday July 3rd before the Thursday holiday. With everyone doing their shopping earlier in the week the holiday weekend saw lower than average sales volume Thursday through Sunday.
Discounts
There was increased discounting seen each day throughout the week. Though the largest day for sales was Wednesday the 3rd the largest discounts were on Thursday the 4th. The average 4th of July discount across the US was 24.8% compared to 20% on a typical Thursday the previous 3 weeks.
Categories
As with past holiday, social categories such as Beverages (+12%) and Pre-Rolls (+6.9%) saw a significant spike during the holiday week alongside Tincture & Sublingual (10.3%).
