Cannabis sales on Super Bowl Sunday
How do cannabis consumers shop on Super Bowl Sunday compared to other Sundays? When we look at sales data from CA, CO, NV, OR, and WA, we see that on Super Bowl Sunday, nearly 63% of total sales had already occurred by 3pm, 30 minutes before kick-off. On the previous four Sundays, only 48% of sales had occurred before 3pm. Sales were also more evenly distributed throughout the day on the previous four Sundays, but hourly sales peaked at 12-1 pm on Super Bowl Sunday with 11.4% of total sales for the day. On the previous four Sundays, hourly sales peaked much later in the day, around 4-5 pm with 9.9% of total sales. If you're a cannabis retailer, hopefully you had more sales associates than usual during the mid-morning hours and fewer than typical during the evening hours. If not, our demand planning dashboards can help you make sure you're never over-staffed or your lines aren't too long. Sign up for a demo today.
